Welcome to our new website and the official home of the 'Lapita antecedents and successors' conference. Over the next few months we will be posting announcements and news about conference planning here, hopefully keeping everyone up to date and informed. If you have an RSS feed reader you can subscribe to this page and receive live notifications (see the 'RSS Feeds' link at the bottom of the page).
We are using this website as a place where prospective conference goers can submit proposals for papers or sessions, indicate their interest in the conference, and pre-pay conference fees. There is also information on places to stay and how to get to the conference venue. Have a look around - if there is anything you would like to see, please contact us and we will do our best to answer your questions.
With funding from the Department of Anthropology at the University of Auckland we have been able to purchase the domain name "pacificarchaeology.org". This is part of a master plan to develop the primary domain of the website further as a place where people interested in the archaeology and prehistory of the Pacific region can come to learn about, discuss and share new research, news of future conferences, university programmes, online resources, and anything else relevant to the study of Pacific archaeology. Stay tuned for further announcements as this project progresses.
