The 7th Meeting of the Lapita Archaeology Conference will be held at the Solomon Kitano-Mendana Hotel in Honiara, Solomon Islands from 4th-7th July 2007. The organizers invite you to participate in the conference as a session organizer, presenter of a paper or poster, or simply by attending the conference. You can submit paper proposals online.
The conference focuses on topics related to Lapita archaeology, however sessions and papers on all areas of Pacific Archaeology will be accepted. In particular though, we encourage presentations that reflect the theme "Lapita antecedents and successors", examining the definition of Lapita by consideration of how it compares and contrasts with what came before and after. The intention is to revisit questions of Lapita origins, definition and transformation. To contact the organizing committee for further information please check the contacts page of this web site.
